The Story Behind the Fairy Techmother
I’ve been running my own businesses since my 20’s when I started out as an Avon lady (yep, I’m that #old). So I understand the challenges of running a business.
So I see you over there juggling your 3rd coffee for the day as you rush between your Zoom calls, client work, your kid’s soccer game, your overflowing inbox and just #allthethings.
You’re running a killer business while juggling family life, and probably not getting enough sleep (or is that just me?!?)
And then there’s all that messy tech stuff. Websites, reels, lead magnets, marketing plans, newsletter integrations, social media scheduling. Especially if tech is not your bag, it can make you want to fling your laptop out the window!
But imagine if your website looked amazing, your newsletter list is crammed with potential clients, and your social media is humming along like magic. It IS possible with a little magic from Your Fairy Techmother (that’s me).
You could spend your time serving your clients instead of trolling YouTube for “how to” videos
And hey, you may FIIIIIIINALLY be able to sneak in a bit of “me time” for a Netflix binge of your favorite shows. Shhhhh, I won’t tell a soul!
Happily, working with tech is my favorite thing in the world. And I’ve got a wide variety of tasks I can whisk off your plate.
My background in Corporate life
I had a successful career in the Corporate world for more than 40 years until I “retired” at the relatively young age of 58.
Most of my 9-5 work life was as a Financial Analyst for Wells Fargo. I won a number of performance awards and was ranked in the top 5% of the company. This time of my life taught me the value of constant communication, hard work, and taking ownership of my work.
To my way of thinking, the client should only have to ask for something ONCE. If you’re a grown-ass woman with a business license, you shouldn’t ever need nagging or reminding to complete a task or meet your deadlines. #amiright
I’m also a hard-core workaholic with an endless curiosity and a never-ending drive to understand how things work to create continual improvement. I was that way in Corporate too – I literally CAN’T do things in an inefficient way. It just messes with my brain!
Even while I was working my 9-5, I always had some little side hustle simmering on the back burner. I’ve had a blog (or three) since FOREVER and I’ve written more than 1,000 posts.
So I’ve learned a thing or two about what makes a website tick, and what types of struggles coaches, service providers and business owners face in running their sites and showing up effectively on all the social media platforms.
Plus, I’m a natural-born teacher, so that makes me a great resource to have on your team. And if I don’t know how to do something, I can guarantee I can find you someone who does. I’ve got a terrific network!
Handholding for the Tech Reluctant
While tinkering around with the screens and buttons makes me as happy as a seagull with a french fry, I get that it is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
I’m always happy to answer all your questions and do my best to explain how things work in a simple and easy-to-understand way.
You’ll never need to feel embarrassed. I’m very patient and laid back. No divas here!
Plus I’m a chatty extrovert who makes friends wherever I go. We’ll have FUN together.
“I can highly recommend Adrian. She is very skilled, goes the extra mile and is innovative.”
Check Out My Services Section
The advantage to being a multi-passionate virtual assistant is that you can help your clients with a LOT of different services.
This is always easier and more cost effective than hiring different people for different tasks.
But the hard part is explaining all the different types of tasks I can help with. So I created a whole page just to show you all the awesome skills I’ve got to share with you.
My Ideal Client – Hopefully This is YOU!
I’ve worked with a lot of clients over the years, so I’ve discovered the clients I really enjoy working with.
They are passionate, but fun. Creative, and sometimes a little quirky. Many of my clients struggle with ADHD tendencies, and I do too, but mine is the more hyper-focused type.
Every single client has been extremely talented and hard-working. They want so badly to help others by sharing their knowledge and expertise. These are my peeps because I feel exactly the same way about my work.
Many of my clients are older women – coaches, bloggers, or service providers, but I enjoy working with men as well. I have years of experience as a Boy Scout leader, so I was often the only woman in the room. Guys are typically very straightforward and I grew to appreciate that a lot.
If you fit this description, I’m so glad you’ve found me! We’re going to make beautiful music together.
PS: Other VA’s complain about difficult or demanding clients, but nearly every client I’ve worked with has been very kind and thoughtful. If you are nit-picky, impatient, or a micro-manager, you’d be doing both of us a kindness to find someone else. I had more than a few Corporate bosses like that, and I know now to run the opposite way from those situations.
